Publishing/Publishing Assistance
Not only can we help our Client's with their writing ... we can also publish their Book!
Please also see our site www.Fortis-Publishing.com.
This service consists of taking the Author’s (client’s) finished Work and creating book-layout structure and formatting to support production of their Book. It includes registration of the Work with proper book industry cataloging and categorization for production of a conventional book in the most cost-effective and popular formats (or the format that the Author wishes for the Work). Creation of the ebook PDF version is included and can be made available as a download (for sale or distribution) on the Author's website, through other sales methods and channels or for delivery as an email attachment.
We can produce Trade Paperback and Hardcover versions of your Book. Our quote for book production formatting and layout is the same whether your book is published as a Trade Paperback or Hardcover. The only difference you will see is that Trade Paperbacks have a lower book manufacturer setup and per-book production cost than do Hardcover books.
Your book will include an ISBN and Library of Congress Catalog Number assignment and Bowker "Books in Print" registration. An ISBN is an book industry identifying/categorizing number that should be on the verso page of your book and is used by book retailers to identify and order your book if made available for sale online and offline in "bricks and mortar" retailers and book stores. Registration and delivery of a hard copy of the book to the Library of Congress to receive a Catalog Number assignment is necessary if you want the book to be available for order/purchase by public libraries. A Bowker “Books in Print” registration is required for booksellers to confirm the authenticity of the book, as a published work, and its publication details.
You do not need to purchase cover art from us if you have a cover created/produced to meet our specifications. A cover file consists of a front, back and spine as a single image file. Not just separate front and back images. The size of the spine is dictated by the thickness of the book, which is dictated by the final page count. To display on sites such as Amazon.com and BN.com (Barnes & Noble), the front cover graphic file has to be reduced to about 1x2 inches. Your cover design needs to use colors and fonts remain legible at that size. Contact Dennis Lowery for details and specification requirements.
Your manuscript must be submitted to us in a .doc, .docx, .txt or .rtf format. If you have questions on this please contact Dennis Lowery. Our book manufacturer uses state-of-the-art binding equipment to perfect bind all of our trade paperback books. Perfect bound books are the standard type of paperback book you see in bookstores and libraries, with a flat spine and the cover wrapping from front to back. We can also offer your Book in a hardcover version. Our printer uses a high-quality, acid-free, book-grade of opaque paper stock. Depending on your book size, books are printed on either a 55# natural shade opaque or 50# white. Paperback covers are printed on a bright white 90# cover stock (4-color glossy cover art acceptable).
